Overview

  • Start swimming 1 mile and then slowly increase it. Or about 30 minutes to an hour a day
  • Middle of training swim a mixture of 3000-5000 meters with a longer swim in-between up to 4-hours
  • It is better to train swim by time (2 hour swims to up to 5 hour swims and track distance as well)
  • The total swim distance is 11 miles and with the current. Could be used as a good training swim for Catalina Channel or other Channels.
  • The choppiest part is halfway through but with the fastest currents
  • The swim should take anywhere from 3 to 9 hours
  • You pass by some Navy Ships
